The Jersey New Waterworks Company Limited has launched a comprehensive website and adopted 'Jersey Water' as its trading name.

The oldest registered Company in Jersey, in existence since 1882, Jersey Water is the sole provider of treated mains water in the Island. The Company operates an extensive network of reservoirs, pipe work, pumping stations, treatment works and a desalination plant in order to provide a continuous supply of wholesome water to approximately 90 percent of the Island's population.

The development of the website and adoption of the new trading name form part of Jersey Water’s continuous process of ensuring customers receive a high standard of service. Customers now have access to information in an easily accessible format 24 hours per day and can download any Jersey Water form or brochure.

Information available on the website (www.jerseywater.je) ranges from details about the Company and its operations, to what to do when moving house and how to pay water bills. There is a section dedicated to water quality, which explains how drinking water is regulated in Jersey, provides an overview of the water treatment process and has a 'Your Questions Answered' section, to provide information on the most frequently asked water quality questions. Other information on 'Using Water Wisely' provides useful hints and tips on saving water - around the home, in the garden, at the workplace and at school.
