Making a difference

I’ve been here for nearly nine months and it’s going really well. I love the variety of work and I’m learning all the time. I’ve had lots of training and support from people all over the company. I’ve discovered I’ve got skills I didn’t know I had!

It’s a really interesting place to work. I love learning about what happens behind the scenes to make water ready for use. It’s great to feel like I’m helping the company and our customers. I feel like I’m making a difference here.

Support when you need it

I came to the company through the Jersey Employment Trust, which supports people with disabilities and long-term health conditions get work. They told me there was a position available here, I had an interview and was successful in getting a six-month contract. I was asked to stay on and was very happy to do so.

Friendly and approachable

I deal with customer accounts and customer finance as well as customer service. I don’t use the phones because I have trouble hearing, so instead I manage the post and emails – I’ve become a bit of an admin specialist! The people I work with are so helpful and approachable. We work really well as a team and it’s a really welcoming atmosphere.

Beaches and fresh air

Everyone’s friendly here on Jersey. I’ve lived here nearly all my life. I love the beaches and the fresh air. There’s lots to do – there’s a lot of culture and history here. It’s a really interesting place to grow up and it’s a great place to live.
