Jersey Water has marked a significant operational milestone with the official opening of our new headquarters and laboratory by the Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Jerry Kyd.
The opening of our new headquarters and water quality laboratory, called Douet House, signals the start of a new era for Jersey Water. It brings together teams that were previously spread across several sites into one modern, purpose‑designed and integrated operational hub, to deliver better service and value for our customers, as well as long‑term resilience for the Island’s water supply.
The new on‑site laboratory represents a significant step forward in water quality analytical capability for Jersey Water. Equipped for modern testing and analysis, it strengthens our ability to monitor and protect the Island’s drinking water, now and into the future.
During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor formally opened the building before touring the facilities and meeting employees from across the company. His Excellency also spent time in the new laboratory, taking part in testing with our Water Quality team.
On his visit, His Excellency commented:
“It was hugely valuable to see first‑hand the expertise, professionalism and care demonstrated by the teams at Jersey Water. Visiting the new headquarters and spending time in the lab provided a clear insight into the breadth of work and specialist knowledge involved in making sure we all receive clean, safe drinking water every day. The commitment across the organisation was evident throughout my visit.”
Helier Smith, our CEO, added:
“Douet House is one of the most important investments Jersey Water has made in recent decades. It brings our people, our laboratory and our operational teams together on one site, creating a more efficient, resilient and sustainable organisation. Our new headquarters allows us to work smarter, reduce long‑term costs and enhance the service to our customers so we continue providing safe, high‑quality drinking water for the Island, today and for generations to come.”
As we continue to respond to challenges around the impacts of climate change and evolving water quality regulation, our new headquarters and laboratory provide a strong platform to keep Jersey’s water supply safe and reliable for the future.
