Jersey Met Office has issued a Red weather warning for Storm Goretti, which is forecast to bring gale force winds and heavy rain overnight on Thursday (8 January) into the early hours of Friday (9 January).
We are taking all necessary precautions to keep our employees and Islanders safe and to ensure the Island’s water supply infrastructure remains operational.
Reservoir closures for safety
As a precaution, we are closing both Val de la Mare and Queen’s Valley reservoirs from Thursday afternoon at 14:00 until further notice, so our teams can assess any damage on Friday and confirm both sites are safe before reopening. The arboretum at Val de la Mare will also be closed.
