Jersey Water wins top award for annual report

We scooped the award for Best Annual Report for a large organisation and finished runner-up for Sustainability Reporting at the inaugural Jersey Audit Office Annual Reporting Awards.

The awards, launched to mark the Jersey Audit Office’s 20th anniversary, recognise excellence and transparency in public sector annual reporting.

We were one of 43 organisations to be reviewed against best practice criteria that’s designed to promote openness, accountability and accessibility in public reporting. Other shortlisted organisations in our categories included JT, Jersey Electricity, Ports of Jersey, Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority, Jersey Development Company (JDC) and the States of Jersey.

Commenting on the win, Natalie Passmore, our Finance and Corporate Services Director, said:

‘We’re incredibly proud to have received this recognition from the Jersey Audit Office. Our annual report is now produced almost entirely in-house by a small, dedicated team and this award is a testament to their hard work and commitment to communicating clearly and demonstrating transparency.

‘Transparency is at the heart of good governance, and this award shows we’re on the right path. We know that building trust with Islanders means being open about our performance, finances and impact. That’s exactly what we aim to do through our reporting.’

The Jersey Audit Office, led by Comptroller and Auditor General Lynne Pamment CBE, provides independent assurance on whether public bodies are delivering value for money and operating with strong governance. It audits most of Jersey’s public organisations, including Jersey Water, and has developed best practice criteria to support improvements in public annual reporting.

The awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate excellence in financial reporting, performance transparency and public accountability. 

Winning this award highlights our ongoing commitment to integrity and openness in how we communicate with our shareholders, customers and the wider community.
