With a Red Wind Warning in place for Jersey, and severe winds forecast Thursday evening into the early hours of Friday morning, we are taking all necessary precautions to keep our employees and Islanders safe and to ensure the Island’s water supply infrastructure remains operational.
We’ll have a team of essential workers working to keep our operations going, and our Customer Services team will be working from home and on hand to help in case of any supply issues.
Reservoirs
To protect public safety, we have now closed Queen’s Valley Reservoir and Val de la Mare Reservoir as a precaution ahead of Storm Austen.
The closures will remain in place until further notice to help keep our employees and Islanders safe. Once the storm has passed, our teams will assess both sites for any damage and make sure they are safe before reopening.
We’re asking Islanders not to visit either reservoir while the closures are in place and to take extra care around exposed areas, trees and other outdoor locations that may be affected by the strong winds.
Signs will be displayed at both reservoirs to advise visitors of the closures.
Customer support
While we’re not anticipating disruption to our services, our Customer Services team is on hand to help in case of any supply issues.
We will have a skeleton team of operational workers to help keep our sites safe. We have made the decision for other teams to work from home tomorrow.
Customers can contact us on (01534) 707300.
