The deadline is approaching for Jersey charities to apply for the chance to receive an award of £10,000 from the Jersey Water 130th Anniversary Fund.
Jersey Water is celebrating the 130th anniversary of its incorporation in 1882. To mark this important milestone, the Company has established a 130th Anniversary Fund of £130,000, to support local initiatives by Jersey charities that will benefit the Island community.
All Jersey charities are being invited to apply for the chance to receive an award of up to £10,000 which can be used to fund an individual project or a specific item of operating expenditure. The fund is looking for applications for original and innovative schemes that have a specific, attainable goal or objective and where there is a clear link between the scheme being funded and the benefit to the Island community.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 28th September 2012.

The Judging panel comprises members of the staff, management and the Board of Jersey Water as well as two independent members. The Judges will announce the recipients of the funding at an awards event on Wednesday 7th November 2012.
Helier Smith, Jersey Water’s Finance Director said “We have received several applications from a variety of Jersey charities since we launched the fund in July but with summer holiday period just ending we would like to remind Jersey charities that the deadline is coming up on Friday 28th September 2012 but also there is still time to make an application. The 130th Anniversary Fund will give all charities in the Island the chance to obtain some extra cash to fund a special project or important piece of expenditure.”
